Newtonville Village Day: Safety & Signage Policy

Village Day is annual community event that draws large crowds, including many families with young children.  Due to the high foot traffic and limited space on Walnut Street, we've implemented the following safety guidelines:

• Holding signs while walking through the event is not permitted, regardless of content.

Signs - especially on poles - can create safety hazards by obstructing walkways, reducing visibility, and unintentionally bumping or injuring other attendees, particularly young children.

• All signage must remain withing designated booth spaces.  

This helps maintain clear paths for strollers, families, and individuals with mobility needs.
